2010 Calendar

Summer field trip schedule

Things to bring on all trips: Lunch, water, collecting buckets or collecting bags, sunscreen, a raincoat, a rock hammer if you have one and newspaper to wrap fragile specimens.

April

• April 24 --> Silos, depart Dillards @9:00 AM; Agates and Petrified Wood



May

• May 1 --> Pat's Gulch; Canceled due to snow! Will be rescheduled.
• May 8-9 --> Bozeman Show; Gallatin County Fairgrounds
• May 15 --> Get-together and Swap, 11:00am - 1:00pm at Memorial Park near the Veterans Memorial. Bring a lunch and something to trade.
• May 22 --> Helena History Fair; 10:00am-3:30pm. Volunteers still needed



June

• June 5 --> Sally Ann trail and claim maintenance; Depart Ben Franklin's parking lot @ 9:00 AM; Chain saws are helpful.
• June 12 --> Sauerbier - Garnets; Depart from Dillard's parking lot 7:00am Bring a shovel and screens. 1/2" top screen and a 1/8" bottom screen are recommended.
• June 19-20 --> Butte Gem and Mineral Show; Butte Civic Center Annex
• June 26 --> Sally Ann PICNIC - Quartz Crystals; Potluck Picnic starts at 12:30pm Early diggers depart Ben Franklin parking lot 8:00am Bring a shovel and screens. 1/2" top screen and a 1/8" bottom screen are recommended.



July

• July 24 --> Calvert Hill - Epidote, Scheelite, Garnet, Aquamarine; Meet at Wise River, MT 9 :00AM
• July 31 --> Mt. Belmont - Amethyst; Depart Ben Franklin parking lot 9:00am



August

• Aug 7 --> Snow Bird - Fluorite, Parisite, Anabergite; Meet at Missoula Costco at 8:00am
• Aug 21 --> Hog's Back - Various marine fossils; Depart Dillard's parking lot 9:00am



September

• Sept11 --> Miss Beverly - Sapphires Bring a shovel and screens. 1/2" top screen and a 1/8" bottom screen are recommended.
• Sept 25-26 --> Missoula Gem and Mineral Show; Ruby's Reserve Street Inn
